Growing litigation practice welcomes new partner to strengthen client offerings

WASHINGTON, DC – January 27, 2015 – Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP announced today that Jared P. Marx has been promoted to partner. With expertise in complex technology, finance, and FCC issues, Mr. Marx represents clients in cases ranging from complex civil litigation and white collar criminal defense, to government and internal investigations.  He was named a 2014 Rising Star by Washington, DC Super Lawyers.

“Jared’s granular attention to detail and depth of expertise has been an asset to our clients,” said Chairman of Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis, Scott Blake Harris. “Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis is committed to fostering the highest-quality legal talent in the industry, and we are thrilled to support Jared in this next step of his career.”

In addition to his litigation work, Mr. Marx has strong working knowledge of both the technology underlying cryptocurrency and the regulations regarding its use, allowing him to provide decisive legal advice to clients looking to minimize risk in this growing space.

“One of the most valuable things a lawyer can offer is adept translation between technology-oriented businesspeople and the policy-makers and regulators who affect their industries,” said Mr. Marx. “I do that translation well, and am looking forward to expanding my practice in that area and others as a partner at Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis.”

Mr. Marx graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was an editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law.  He holds a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Notre Dame, and earned a B.A. summa cum laude in Government and Philosophy from Notre Dame, as well.
