An experienced litigator and Vice-Chair of HWG’s Legal Ethics and Malpractice group, Hilary counsels lawyers and law firms on legal ethics and malpractice issues and represents clients—from individuals to Fortune 500 companies—in civil litigation and white-collar criminal investigations across the country.

Hilary serves on the D.C. Bar Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee and is an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center. A frequent writer on developments in legal ethics, she published seven of Law360’s most-read expert analyses in 2021.

Hilary began her legal career clerking for the Honorable Kermit V. Lipez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She received her J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law, where she served as Online Editor of the California Law Review, and her B.A. from the University of Chicago, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
