Kristine Laudadio Devine is a partner with the law firm of HWG LLP, practicing in Washington, D.C. and Austin, TX, where she focuses on representing clients engaged in communications-related transactions and negotiations as well as private company mergers and acquisitions. kristine also provides regulatory and compliance counseling to technology and communications companies.
Communications Agreements and Transactions. Kristine has extensive experience preparing and negotiating commercial agreements for communications, broadband, and subsea cable companies, and assisting clients in obtaining federal, state, and local regulatory approvals for transactions. She has represented clients negotiating utility pole attachment agreements, subsea cable landing and IRU agreements, joint trench agreements, dark fiber leases, wireless tower leases, and transition services agreements related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Kristine also represents private companies engaged in mergers, acquisitions, and other business combinations in the cable and satellite programming, television and radio, information technology, and public relations and advertising industries.
Regulatory Advocacy and Compliance. Kristine counsels and advises clients on a variety of regulatory issues before the Federal Communications Commission, other federal agencies, and state regulatory bodies. She also assists clients in developing and implementing regulatory compliance strategies. Kristine has represented a wireless carrier in 911-related advocacy before the Federal Communications Commission, an interconnected VoIP provider in FCC rulemaking proceedings, and other clients in proceedings related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, disabilities access, numbering rights, universal service, and broadband deployment. She has extensive experience assisting clients in meeting their compliance obligations related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Communications and Video Accessibility Act, privacy regulations, and Internet-related consumer protection regulations.
Prior to joining the firm, Kristine completed a clerkship with the Hon. Milton I. Shadur of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and practiced with a major international law firm.
Kristine earned her J.D. cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law where she was Managing Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. She earned her B.A. summa cum laude from Sewanee: The University of the South.
