The Wall Street Journal Quotes HWG Partner Kent Bressie on Undersea Cable Battle

The Wall Street Journal quoted HWG partner Kent Bressie in an article titled “America’s Undersea Battle with China for Control of the Global Internet Grid.” The article, published March 12, discusses the critical importance of the active submarine cables that carry 95% of intercontinental voice and data traffic and the debates over the security of these cables. 

Mr. Bressie, who serves as a legal adviser to the International Cable Protection Committee, noted the security protections in place and the need, if new risks arise, for “communication from government to operators.”
