The webinar covered important ethical topics related to the confidentiality and conflict issues faced by IP lawyers. Using the applicable rules from the Virginia Rules of Professional Conduct and USPTO Rules of Professional Conduct, the course offered methods for lawyers to analyze conflict scenarios by determining who their clients are and whether there is adversity. The webinar also discussed how the relevant rules apply to conflicts involving former clients and those involving current clients.
